If you're a professional 2d animator, can you also make professional 3d animations?

Course you can anyone can do any type of animation they want as long as they have the software which is pretty much a non issue with programmes like blender these days. As long as you are willing to put in the work to learn the basics and practice in any type of animation you choose to pursue then there is no limit to the type of animations you can make.

As a 3D animator, what I can tell you is that animation skills from 2D will transfer. But you'll have to learn the basics of using the program and learning things specific to 3D animation. Also your computer has to be capable of running programs like these.

BTW, 3D animation is not some next level of animation from 2D. It is just another form of animation and does not require you to be good at 2D to start or get good at 3D.
