Hannah

Abilities/Weapons : Sniper RifleHannah has a special sniper rifle that can be toggled for shooting bullets or a massive gust of wind.
She can use the wind to quickly relocate herself.
Personality : Hannah has a happy-go-lucky attitude, she's actually quite hyper(her doctor prohibited her from drinking coffee). However, she knows when to calm down and get serious.
Appearance : Age: 17
Height: 5'5
Weight: Unable to get an answer
Hair Color: Brown
Hair Style: Long and Flowing
Eye Color: Gray
Race: Caucasian
History : Hannah was born to your average family. Both her parents were duelists who beat people up and got beat up on a daily basis........... legally. Yep, very average. Naturally, she wanted to become a duelist too, so she found herself a trusty slingshot. She practiced with it every single day until her skill was too much for a simple little slingshot, so she upgraded it into a slingshot that shoots farther, harder, and was more difficult to use. She kept on upgrading her slingshot until it somehow(don't ask me how) turned into a sniper rifle. At the age of 16, she got a part-time job as a duelist's assistant, but pretty much just carried him with her extreme skill. Blinded by her success, she became cocky. One day, she met a man with two metal gauntlets of purple and yellow. She challenged the man to a a duel and got her a** whooped. Humiliated, she started walking away. However, that man was also a blacksmith. He saw potential in the girl and offered to upgrade her sniper some more for half off. He added an extremely powerful air compressor to the gun. Hannah, now with her trusty newly upgraded sniper rifle, is ready to fight and improve.
Demo : "HEY YOU! WANNA FIGHT?" yelled a very ambitious girl. The man she rudely interrupted turned around, looking very confused. "Um....Can I help you?"
"YEA! I WANT TO FIGHT YOU! YOU'RE A DUELIST RIGHT?" she continued. The man, slightly irritated, walked over to the pest and introduced himself. "Hey, I'm Jaxxon. I'm guess you're a duelist too." Jaxxon was secretly examining the girl's weaponry. She uses a sniper rifle and had light clothing. This girl is a long-ranged specialist with no precautions from being hit. She was also extremely confident and pretty young, meaning that either she is the daughter of an all powerful gun wielding dragon, or she was an inexperienced but cocky punk. The second option seemed more likely. The best way to defeat her is to simply get close and throw a punch.
"Hi! I'm Hannah and yes, I am a duelist. Now, are we gonna fight or not?" Unlike Jaxxon, Hannah had no interest in strategy. WOW! My first actual duel! I'm gonna pound this guy. All those years of training will pay off! She tossed a bullet into the air and caught it in her rifle just to show off.
Hannah squats down and executes a perfect triple backflip before immediately getting into position to shoot. HA! He's not even prepared to dodge! Hannah thought as she pulls the trigger. Suddenly, a pitch black hole appears from Jaxxon's palm. Hannah stares in shock as her projectile curves straight into the black hole. "You know, you really shouldn't underestimate professional duelists," muttered Jaxxon as he charges towards her. Frightened, Hannah immediately rolls to the left, where she swings her gun at Jaxxon. THWAK!! Jaxxon caught the butt of the rifle as it hit his hand. Oh sht*t, this guy's stronger than I thought! Hannah quickly thinks up a plan to free her weapon. She grabs both ends of her rifle with him still holding on and, with the support of his strong arms, jumps over Jaxxon. With him bent backwards, Hannah kicks him in the back while simultaneously jerking back her gun. Painfully, Jaxxon lost grip of the rifle and trips forward.
Hannah swiftly loads her rifle with a bullet, but before she could pull the trigger, she got pulled in towards another black hole, only this time, it was much larger. Before she knew it, she was hanging by her collar under the tight grip of her opponent. "Here's some advice: Always be planning your attack," suggested Jaxxon as he slams her into the ground. Though the pain was extreme, she followed his advice. Alright, here we go. Hannah closes her eyes and lies there. Jaxxon looks at her and rolls his eyes. "Really, you're gonna play dead? That's the oldest trick in the book." He rears up his fist and, just as he was about the strike, Hannah rolls to the left and jumps on top of him. Using her rifle, she hangs around his neck and starts kicking him in the stomach. Surprised, Jaxxon grabs her, but she already thought ahead and pulls the trigger. The shock created by the gun startled him and allowed Hannah to escape. Using the rifle as a melee weapon, Hannah backs up about 30 yards. Again, she gets into position and aims the gun. One by one, Hannah blasts bullets towards her target, who blocks them with his gauntlets. Hannah quickly notices this and aims down at his feet. She shoots a bullet, which grazes past his leg. Jaxxon, now frightened, summons his black hole one last time.
At first, the black hole was about the size of her head, but after a second, it rapidly increases in size. Hannah feels herself getting pulled in again, but this time, she fights back. Unfortunately, she was too late, and was dragged into the palm of Jaxxon's hand. Using his other hand, covered in a yellow gauntlet, he socks Hannah in the stomach. Hannah felt a jolt of pain followed by an intense heat. Apparently, she has been blown up and is now flying away from Jaxxon. Exhausted, Hannah accepts her defeat.

Well that is quite simple and very useful.

I have no issues with it though a few worries.

I see no way for her to defend herself against both ranged and mellee attacks other than dodging them.

You don't have to act upon this as dodging is good enough.

Good character.

Other than that I am a strange person that wavers between a cynical twat and a polite Brit that has the union jack hung in the bathroom.

Interesting character! If you've got a sniper rifle though, you might end up getting backed into a corner since there's not gonna be a whole lot you can do with it. Extreme close combat isn't really what the weapon's meant for, so she'd either have to be wildly loud/inaccurate with it if she's using it properly, you'll be stuck with Anime-Effects (blocking bullets/moving quick enough to dodge them), or just repeatedly fighting in places where she shouldn't be (such as melee range like in the demo). Honestly, if I were you I would've kept the slingshot, since also unlike the sniper, you can hit someone with it without turning them into chunky bits.

If your style is more cranking things to 11 and less keeping with reality though, totally your call. This is still something getting built, so it's not like I know 100% what it'll be.

As far as actual writing goes, just make sure you change the paragraph when someone new is speaking, it helps keep things more organized and easier to follow.

Looking forward to what's to come!

What's a Written Duelist? A thing maybe, if there's interest.

@Crank yea, i know that snipers are absolute sht at close combat. I was thinking of how to make a WRITTEN duelist. I figured that a character who needs a ton of mental power just to get in range to attack would be very interesting to write about. Heres an example of what I mean. My actual duelist, Jaxxon, is a get up close and beat the living hell out of someone kind of fighter. In animation, it looks really cool. However, in a WRITTEN duel, it would look like "punch, punch, kaboom, black hole, punch, punch." It's not really interesting. One the other hand, a long ranged fighter has to think about how to stay away from their opponent, where to attack from, aiming, dodging, how to ricochet, etc. Unlike an animation, which looks cool based on how many combos and explosions you can get in there, a written duel looks cool based on how the character thinks and acts.
