few animation tips. one mainly. add inertia to your movements. when something stops and sops moving, it keeps moving for a little. it slows down and speeds up. add a few frames for that. also, make sure you have different parts of the body affecting each other. do both of those, and your animations will look much better.

inertia: an object in motion/standing still will remain so unless acted on by an outside force.
In other words, things don't go from 0 to max speed, they speed up and slow down. add a few frames for that. like a frame where he moves only one pixel, then two, then four, ext., until you reach the desired speed. it makes things smoother. also remember that the lighter an object is, the more easily it changes. so a sword may get dragged behind a little when your agile character leaps forward.
