The Chosen One Tournament 2025
A new era has begun
The much-anticipated Chosen One Tournament is making a return and this year will be the biggest yet. With a whopping $22,500+ prize pool, the top seven contenders will clash to claim their share. Who has the skill and creativity to join the ranks of the six Oni? And who will rise above all to be crowned the Chosen One?
This year’s competition pays homage to the core roots of the Hyun’s Dojo community. A celebration of over a decade of stick figure animations and a nod to the ones that inspired me to start animating and to create a small community called Hyun’s Dojo many years ago.
The new Dojo is finally open, and we’re on the hunt for the best animators from across all the lands! The timer is set, and the gongs are ringing! Get ready for the most epic showdown in Dojo history!

Judging Criteria
This year, our judging criteria will prioritize animation skills, with the majority of points being awarded based on your technical animation expertise. However, to achieve the highest score of 100 points, animators must also showcase outstanding creativity and compelling storytelling.
Animation - 65 points

Tournament Prompt
“Make the best STICK FIGURE animation in the world! Center your story around a fresh, never-before-seen stick figure OC (original character) that you’ve never designed or animated before. What exciting adventures await our new protagonist?”
Requirements to Join
- You must have a registered account on hyunsdojo.com
- You must be in good standing within the community
- You do NOT need to have Dojo Rank this year to participate.
Rules
- You must follow the tournament prompt
- Your animation must be a STICK FIGURE animation (G-Sticks are allowed)
- You can add extra details to your sticks like faces, hair, clothes, simplified anatomy, etc. as long as they are universally recognizable as “Stick Figures”
- Your main character must be a newly designed, never-before-seen, unused, original character.
- You can use other known OCs (including your own) as long as they are not the main character.
- Must be at least 2 minutes in length
- You CAN use any program
- You CAN use any music
- You CAN use voice actors
- You CANNOT have any outside help with your animation or art
- You CANNOT have anyone add sound fx for you, but you can use sound packs from others
- You CANNOT use old animations or projects. You must start a new project from the tournament start date.
- No NSFW content (violence/gore is allowed)
- Any use of AI art or animations will be disqualified
FINAL ANIMATION SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN and will close once the timer counts down to zero! Please make sure you submit your FINAL animation and that you have read all the rules.
